A project that completes the frame
Since Stelbel’s return to the market in 2015, we felt the need to develop an internally designed carbon fiber fork. Not to differentiate ourselves at all costs, but to close a circle that is important to us.
For an artisanal reality like ours, this was not an immediate transition. From the moment the project concretely started, over two years of development, testing, and revisions were necessary before reaching the final version. The Evoluzione fork was entirely designed by us to integrate with the aesthetic lines and structural philosophy of our frames. The appearance is minimal, proportioned, and consistent with the Stelbel language.

Geometry and road behavior
With the current fourth evolution, the fork features an axle-to-crown of 373 mm, a rake of 45 mm, and a maximum tire clearance of up to 700x35c.
The goal was to improve overall handling, increasing precision when entering corners and ensuring a clear, readable response during load variations. We wanted a fork capable of transmitting direct feedback to the cyclist without excessively stiffening the front end.
While many forks adopt crown diameters exceeding 56 mm, we chose a different path. Our fork maintains a 52 mm crown, with proportions consistent with our frames. It is an aesthetic choice, but above all a technical one: we sought a stable and precise front end, not an oversized one. It is designed to be paired with a 1”1/4 lower bearing (47 mm diameter), moving away from the common 1”1/2 oversize solutions to maintain a compact structure and avoid “nervous” handling.
The new A-Shape steerer
The latest version introduces a fork steerer with a redesigned proprietary cross-section, an evolution of the classic D-profile.
The new shape allows for fully hidden brake line routing, while maintaining ease of assembly, broad third-party component compatibility, and none of the drawbacks sometimes found in traditional D-Shape systems.
We deliberately avoided overly complex solutions or designs relying on numerous proprietary parts. The result is a clean, functional system that remains straightforward to manage, even during maintenance.

We exclusively use high-quality raw materials, with constant quality checks on lamination consistency and dimensional tolerances.
This project was conceived to offer a fully integrated frame-and-fork system, designed to optimise one of the most critical pairings on a high-end bicycle.
Having a proprietary fork is not a common feature — especially for a handcrafted brand. For us, it means complete control over front-end behaviour, with no compromises imposed by external components.
From 2026, the Evoluzione fork will be fitted as standard across the entire Strada range, becoming a defining part of our technical identity.
